Yum...Plum!
Oh, he is just so cute. And don't worry, I ate the skin off the part where he was eating, and I didn't let him keep it with him when I was driving!

Well Child Check
Last week I took Abby to the pediatrician for her yearly physical and it was so funny. She is just such a funny girl. First of all, she was thrilled because she was finally getting to see her new pediatrician (it took me a while after the adoption to get everything worked out to have the girls switched to Seth's pediatrician), plus, she was getting to do something on her own, without Haley. So, she was just beaming as she was weighed (she informed the nurse that she "measures 32") and had her blood pressure taken. Then, when the nurse told me that she needed me to try and get a urine sample, Abby looked up at me wide-eyed and said "mom, do I get to pee in a cup?" I have no idea how on earth she knew that's what a urine sample is. Anyway, she was thrilled, thrilled, thrilled about peeing in a cup! She had everyone in the office laughing so hard because she just kept saying "I want to pee in a cup. I want to pee in a cup, mom. I want to pee in the cup." And, if the joy of peeing in a cup wasn't enough, the pediatrician told her that she needed two immunizations. Once again, she surprised me and knew what that meant ("mom, I get shots?"). She looked up at the pediatrician and said "Dr. Crummer, I'm really good at shots." She proceeded to shock the nurse with how good she really is at shots!
I know, I know, all you moms out there are envious. My daughter really is a dream to take to the doctor!

4th Of July
For the 4th of July we love to go to the "world's shortest parade" (aka the shortest, LONGEST parade) in Aptos. We got there pretty early to secure a spot. The girls got to get "frinkle" donuts, which I think they were more excited about than the parade!
We got a spot! Hooray!
Gotta love "frinkle" donuts!
The girls and a friend ready for the parade to begin (Haley had a blue ring pop.)
After the parade, the kids took naps and then we went to Carey's grandma's house for a swim in the pool and some good ol' American hamburgers and hotdogs!

Thankfully, the kids were all asleep before the fireworks started. I always think I love the 4th of July so much, then, every year it gets to the evening and I am so annoyed with all the firecrackers and such. First of all, I don't think drinking all afternoon and explosives should go together. Second, I am always nervous that one of the illegal fireworks is going to set our house on fire. I was lying in bed thinking, "okay, first we grab the kids, then as many files as we can, the computer, and our wallets." At least now I've got a plan of what to grab in the case of a fire!

Vacation Bible Camp
A couple weeks ago the girls went to Vacation Bible Camp at one of the local churches. They had a great time, although they were EXHAUSTED by the time I picked them up each day. It was the first time they've been separated (I requested that they be in different groups) and we were so proud of how well they did. Abby loved it, of course. Haley loved it the first couple days, then she told me that she missed Abby. They still got to play together outside and see eachother at the chapel times. Oh, and when we were driving there on the first morning I was telling the girls that there might be boys in their groups, just in case they thought it was going to be all girls, and Abby said "Ya, and we DON'T throw trash at boys." What? It kind of made me wonder if somewhere, someone had to tell her that because she did it!

The theme was called Crocodile Dock, hence the awesome visors!
