All About Seth

Well, my ultra mellow baby boy has gone wild. Since he started crawling he is just pretty crazy. He's so funny and loves to entertain us (especially at the dinner table). He loves to pull everything out of the "kid cupboard":

He loves to climb/try to climb:

Oh, and he really loves to play in the toilet. I haven't taken a picture of that, since I usually stop it as soon as I catch him (his sisters aren't quite the queens of flushing).

The other day I took him to get his first haircut. Now, some people weren't so thrilled that I was getting my baby's hair cut before he is one, but he was sort of starting to have a mullet, and it was driving Carey and I crazy. He was SO cute sitting on the haircutting chair and his hair cut is DARLING. It makes him look like such a big boy!

Finally Crawling

Here comes Seth:

The Joy Of Arguing

This afternoon, as we were driving to Grandpa Steve and Grandma Jackie's house, Abby was trying to argue with me about something (I can't remember what it was). Here's how it went:

Abby: No it isn't, mom.
I didn't say anything.
Abby: Mooom, no it isn't.
I still wasn't going to engage in an argument with her.
Abby: No it isn't.
Abby: Yes it is.
Abby: No it isn't.
Abby: Yes it is

Seriously. Apparently if no one will argue with her, she'll argue with herself!
She looks so sweet, doesn't she!

Coastal Clean-Up Day

Today is Coastal Clean-Up Day and we went out this morning to do our part. I think that it's a national thing, and in our area Save Our Shores was in charge of it. We got there to sign our waivers and get started, but first we got a hilarious safety talk fromsome fourth or fifth grade kids. Some of the things they informed us of were:
"Don't touch or clean-up dead animals. They belong at the beach."
"Keep your gloves on 24/7" (I laughed out loud a little)
"Don't climb on the rocks or they will crumble and you will fall."

and, my favorite:
"We don't have a first aid kid. So, if you get hurt, we're not responsible...you can't sue...we're only kids."

After that, we got our bags and got to work. There were a few fights over who got to pick up a given cigarette butt, and a little complaining about it being cold (it was WAY colder than we were ready for), but other than that, the girls did great. Abby found (and later lost) a plastic gold coin. Haley found a stick and a rock (she always does, no matter where we go).

Two notes: 1)Seth is on my back (if you were wondering what he was doing during our morning. 2)The paper I am holding is a tally sheet they gave us. There were all sorts of categories, such as food wrappers, cigarette butts, and light bulbs (seriously), and we were supposed to tally what we found. We tried to hit as many categories as we could. We pretty much only got about four categories, missing ones such as appliances, lobster traps, and pieces of boats.

Ballet Class

Abby and Haley started ballet class last week. They are SO cute dancing around with all the other little girls. And boy do they listen to the teacher. Seriously, the first class I was watching thinking "so they ARE capable of following directions". Anyway, I'm pretty sure they love it since they've told just about everyone around (Whole Foods checker, lady at the park, neighbors walking by, etc) that they "always go to ballet class."

Haley is on the left in the yellow.

Ode To Auntie Neighbor Katie

We are trying to have weekly picnics with our dear friend Auntie Neighbor Katie. Well, she's no longer our neighbor, but the title remains. She's our neighbor in the biblical sense...and we LOVE our neighbor. Katie was our neighbor when the girls first came to live with us and she was a HUGE blessing (she's not huge...the blessings were huge). She provided us with food, babysitting, a listening ear, laughter, and encouragement. She loved our girls and us.

We are no longer neighbors, but Katie still blesses us so much...not to mention that she is a joy to look at (see pictures below). She is just downright thoughtful. She prays for our family. She cooks us DELICIOUS food. She sews things for the girls. She is so fun to be around.

Okay, I could go on and on, but I will just end with some pictures. We LOVE YOU KATIE:)
Playing on the swing at our last picnic!

Cuddling little sick Abby!

Dirt:)

I forgot to post this little video with the camping post. This is what happened as soon as we got to our campsite and I put Seth down:
