Happy Halloween

Well, we had the cutest tricker treaters out there! The girls and I (Sarah) went tricker treating around the CPS building with our social worker this afternoon and they got WAY too much candy (what else would you expect). It was fun, though. There are a lot of people around there who have heard about "the twins" but hadn't seen them. They "performed" well, saying please and thank you and staying close to me when I asked them to! Then, this evening we went to our friends', the Austins, house and had dinner and hung out. The Austins neighborhood was all decorated, and the girls loved that.

Super Duper Pooper!

Tonight, when Rayley was in the bath, she was holding herself and saying "potty", pointing to the toilet. I thought she just had to pee, and figured she would in the bath (don't worry, we always do "fresh water rinses" at the end of baths). She kept saying "potty, potty", so, I pulled her out and held her on the toilet, and, drumroll please...SHE POOPED! She pooped on the toilet. And, let me tell you that Carey and I have excellent timing, I guess, because this morning we bought a training potty! Wow. We are good! Anyway, maybe this is gross, but here's a little video of Ray with her poop. She just kept pointing at it saying "yuck"!

Pumpkin Patch

I just realized I never posted pictures of the pumpkin patch. It wasn't the greatest pumpkin patch, but it was fine. We had a good time. The girls loved wandering around. We kind of tested to see how far they would go without coming back to us. They'll go REALLY far!

Gymnastics and Haircuts

I signed the girls up for gymnastics class through Capitola Parks and Recs. They are Mommy/Daddy and Me classes, and I signed them up for two separate ones. The Capitola Community Center is right next to a park, so when it's not their turn in the class, they get to play there with a friend or my mom watching them! Anyway, we had our first class this week. It was fun. Apple had a hard time being kind (she just walks up to kids and pushes them. She's not even mad, she just does it), but she had fun. Rayley is so athletic that she LOVED everything. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next class. The teacher is GREAT and I liked the other parents I met. One of these weeks I'll try and take pictures.

Today I took the girls to get their haircut. There's a cute place in Soquel called the Toybox that only does kids cuts. The woman did an awesome job. I had her cut Apple's hair about chin length. It's so cute! Ray's hair just needed to be evened out. It was almost like it had been layered or something (I don't think it had), so now it's nice and even and still cute and curly! Anyway, they both did really good. You'd think I would have taken some pictures to put up of their cute new hair, but I don't. Here's some pics from the last few days!

Fun in the rain!

Well, it rained the other day. The girls looked DARLING in their rain jackets, and they loved playing in the rain. At first, they just stood at the window, pointing out saying "wet" over and over and over. Then, they wanted to go out! So, I let them!

Our "Vacation House"

Well, we've moved to my (Sarah's) parents' property. We are calling it our "vacation house", so that the girls don't get so confused about "home". We tell them we're staying in our vacation house and then we're going to move to our new home. The girls really miss our old home. Every time we get in the car they say "home?". Apple had a sad day today. She kept saying "home" and then crying. I think she really wanted to go home. It was pretty heartbreaking. I can't wait until we can move to the duplex. I think that the girls will be able to feel that Carey and I feel more settled, and hopefully that will make them feel at home. Anyway, here's some cute pictures. The first couple of are when we went "bird watching" on my parents' deck the other day. The other two are from a hat the girls "rescued" from a Goodwill pile!

Moving

We are in the process of moving right now. Unfortunately, the place we are moving to isn't quite ready for us yet, so we are going to my (Sarah's) parents' house to stay in the granny unit for a little bit. So, we've been packing and cleaning. The girls aren't super helpful, but they are really good at coloring the boxes and "helping" me sweep (aka spreading out the pile that I sweep up)! Here's some pictures of moving, and some packing breaks!

Rockstar Babies!

Maybe you didn't know, but our babies are rockstars! Actually, they just really don't like the sun in their eyes. Unfortunately, Rayley's sunglasses are usually on the floor of the car approximately 7 seconds after we put them on her face, and she is the one who FREAKS OUT about the sun in her eyes! Someday she'll get it!

Our babies LOVE being in boxes and baskets. Rayley especially likes baskets and Apps loves boxes! The are always so cute when they are sitting in them. Well, really, they're just always so cute!

Reading

When we first got the girls, they would not sit still long enough to even open a book. Now they love reading. Rayley always has to get a "cozy" (doesn't always look very cozy) spot, which usually takes her a while. You can tell she has something in her mind that she is trying to do, and she will keep trying for as long as it takes to get things "just so". It's usually adjusting a floor mat or a dish towel on a step or in a basket! We're praying that she's not actually OCD, but she sure is a little bit right now!

Apple was trying so hard to balance her dog on her lap AND read the book at the same time! It was more of a challenge than you might expect!

Wahoo!

Okay, the blog is back. I'm pretty sure that it's fine as long as it's set to private! I emailed everyone that I had an email address for that I thought would want to see this, but if you know someone who would like access, have them email me at candswebber@gmail.com and I can give them access. I hope I am doing this right! Anyway, the girls are doing great. Today was the first day that they just ran right in to daycare, which was wonderful. Also, they are talking so much. I think our favorite thing is that they say "hold you" when they want us to hold them, as opposed to standing at our feet whining! The whining has got to stop. It's making me crazy! Anyway, this is a quick post. Here's a couple pictures of the first time I lit a candle around the girls!
