Disneyland

I am finally posting about Disneyland.  I've been waiting, because we've been trying to get the "moment of surprise" off the video camera.  But, that'll have to wait!  Anyway, we drove from San Diego to a hotel in Anaheim, telling the kids we were going to go to a fun park.  Once they had eaten and been sunscreened, Carey told them that we were going to Dineyland right then.  They were THRILLED (of course), dancing around and singing a princess song!

We spent three days at Disneyland, and had a great time.  We were all a little tired and a little "edgey" from already having been gone from home for three days, but made it through with minimal tantrums.  The girls were quite the roller coaster riders, going on Space Mountain twice, Big Thunder Mountain, Matterhorn, and the Go Coaster (the little one in Toon Town).  Seth wasn't tall enough for Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain, but he did LOVE the Go Coaster, and rode on the Matterhorn (although we're not sure how much he loved that one)!

We met Goofy as soon as we walked into the park!  Haley wasn't quite sure, yet, but she watched from the stroller!

It was about 75 degrees, which felt super hot after the cold weather we had gotten used to at home, so we let the kids cool off with popsicles!

San Diego

Last week we packed up the car and headed down to San Diego for a friends' wedding and a fun family trip!  It was our first "high tech" trip, as we set off with a GPS and portable DVD player!  We left at 5 in the morning and made it all the way to Santa Barbara before taking a break.  We took highway 101 and there was a big tsunami warning, so there were hardly any cars on the road, and NO police (I think they were all busy keeping people off the beaches), so we made it pretty fast.  In Santa Barbara we stopped at a park and played and played for about an hour and a half.

 

 

When we got to our hotel in San Diego we went straight to the pool.  The kids were SO happy to be in the water.  Seth kept telling us that he was a fish and he knew how to swim.  When we would let go of him and let him sink under water, he would be smiling when we pulled him back up!  Usually he said "that was fun" or "that was cool"!

The next day we went out to breakfast and then walked along to waterfront in downtown San Diego.  Later that day, our wonderful friends Eric and Stacey babysat the kiddos while Carey and I went to a friends wedding.  The kids had so much fun with uncle Eric and auntie Stacey (other than Seth screaming until he barfed...sorry about that Eric and Stacey), and Carey and I had so much fun at the wedding.

On Sunday we decided to go to the San Diego Zoo.  We were all pretty tired, so we had more than our fair share of meltdowns, but it was still pretty fun.  Eric and Stacey have year passes, so after they were done with church, they came and met us there.  We had grand plans of all having dinner together that evening, which quickly dissolved as the kids melted down.  We love you, Eric and Stacey, and wish we could have spent more time with you.  Thank you so much for watching our kids!

We loved watching the monkeys.  Unfortunately for Seth, he slept through that part!

We had a fun time in San Diego, and little did the kids know, there was more fun to come.  The day after we went to the zoo, we left San Diego to surprise the kids with three days at Disneyland.  (I will post about Disneyland as soon as I can get the "surprise" moment off the video camera...the cord seems to be lost!)

Life Is A Musical...

At least in our house it is.  We have LOTS of singing (and often, lots of fighting about solos being made into duets or trios without the invitation of the soloist)!  Here's a current favorite, brought home from preschool!

Not Much To Post About

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the blog.  I know I haven't posted in a while, but nothing really post-worthy has happened.  Soon, I'm sure.  Or at least I'll post some random recent pictures, because I don't want any of you friends to stop checking my blog! 

6th Anniversary

Okay, so I know the blog is supposed to be about the "wee Webbers", but this one is more about the big Webbers.  Last weekend was Carey and my 6th anniversary and I think it may have been our best one yet:)  Saturday morning we took the kids to Henry Cowell Park and "hiked" (read: walked) through the gorgeous redwood forest.  We saw deer, squirrels, banana slugs and, of course, HUGE redwood trees.  They thought it was so fun to see the "caves" where the trees had burned.

Later that afternoon we took the kiddos to my parents' house to spend the night.  Abby and Haley had individually spent the night there before, but it was the first time for Seth, and the first time for my parents to have ALL three of them together.  Thank you so much, Grammie Lori and Poppa Phil.

Guess what we were SO excited to do after leaving the kids at grandma and grandpa's house...CLEAN!  We went home and cleaned and cleaned and cleaned some more.  Some people have been disappointed with us that we chose our anniversary to clean, but, come on, what better anniversary gift to each other than a clean house (which, by the way, stayed clean all night AND was STILL CLEAN the next morning)!  Oh, it was great.  We even got take out and brought it home, because it was just so nice to be home and have it be calm and quiet (and clean). 

I will say that in the morning, when we both woke up at 9:00 and the house was quiet we agreed that it was a nice break, but we are glad that our lives are normally loud and alive with three precious little Webbers:)

Fun At Happy Hollow

This afternoon we went to Happy Hollow for a couple hours and it was so great.  We went for the last two hours before it closed, so a lot of people were leaving as we got there.  I think the cold weather helped keep people away as well.  It was a perfect day for the kids to ride rides.  The most fun part was that Seth was TOTALLY into the rides.  Up until now, he's always been super scared, and not even tried the merry go round.  Today he was crying because he wasn't tall enough for the roller coaster!  He did get to go on the merry-go-round (twice), the car ride (twice), the swings and the ladybugs!

Since there were really no lines, the girls got to go on the roller coaster three times.  I was wishing so badly for the video camera because they were so funny on it.  Haley would keep her hands up the whole time, and Abby kept giving us a "thumbs up" when they were at the top of the hill!

We didn't have any quarters for the goat food vending machine, so the kids were just picking up pellets that other kids had dropped!

Last time we went, Seth didn't even want to look at the animals in the petting area.  Today he pet and fed the goats.  So brave!

This was just how the girls were standing waiting for us to catch up with them when we were walking back to the car!
