This afternoon the girls were riding bikes in the front yard, and Abby rode right into the street, then just stopped in the middle. I got her back into the driveway and was trying to explain to her what could happen to her in the middle of the street. It went like this:
Me: The cars come around the corner really fast and they can't see you. They don't think there's gonna be a little girl on her bike in the street.
Abby: Ya.
Me: If the car hits you, you might die. Or bleed a lot (which, to the girls is worse than dying).
Abby: Yup, and get smooshed.
Haley: Then we'd have to go get a new Abby.
Me: Nope. You can't get a new person. There's just one Abby.
Haley: How sad.
Abby wanted to go say hi to our mail-lady, Denise, and she was wearing a "princess dress".
Abby: HI DENISE.
Denise: Hi, honey. You look so pretty today.
Abby: I know!
In the car, driving up the coast...
Haley: See that hill, mom?
Me: Yes
Haley: We need to tell Daddy. He ride his mountain bike on that hill.
Also in the car...
Haley: Mom, can we play duck, duck goose when we get home?
Me: Sure
Haley: But mom, we need A LOT of kids.
Goodness, I know when I sat down to write this I had more, but I can't think of them. Oh well. I'll have to save them for another post!

Preschool
Well, the day has finally come. The girls started preschool this week. Monday was their first day at Rocking Horse Ranch, which is an awesome preschool really close to our house. They LOVE it. They were so excited to go, and both days that we've picked them up, they haven't wanted to leave. Today, when Abby saw me at pick up time she said "No. Don't see me. I want to stay at Rocking Horse Ranch"! I figure that's a good thing. The teachers say that they are doing well and having a lot of fun.

Princesses!
Thursday was Carey's and my anniversary, and, like I always do on our anniversary, I put on my wedding dress. Abby kept looking at me and hugging me saying "Mommy's a princess. Oh, my mommy princess!" She and Haley also dressed up like princesses, of course. Abby wore my veil and looked SO cute. Oh, and they hid under my dress and jumped out to surprise Carey when he got home!
